UCF graduate Erin Kitzinger's thesis film "Hope For A Thorn" won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the 2010 Gasparilla International Film Festival in Tampa. Terence Ramotar, vice president of Transcare Ambulance Services in Tampa, is one of 10 national recipients of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services' Innovators in EMS 2009 Awards. Ramotar spearheaded a green initiative to reduce the electrical load of ambulances and keep equipment batteries charged.
