Valpak Plans To Hire 100 Military Vets In 2012, Largo
The Bureau of Labor Statistics showsĀ thatĀ unemployment among military veterans is historicallyĀ lower thanĀ the average population.Ā Valpak is hoping toĀ help change those statistics.
In support of theĀ Vow to HireĀ Veterans Act,Ā Valpak isĀ planning to hire 100Ā veteransĀ to join its sales force by 2013, as well asĀ offer incentives toĀ vets wanting toĀ start aĀ business throughĀ its franchiseĀ program, part of theĀ InternationalĀ FranchiseĀ AssociationāsĀ āOperation Enduring Opportunitiesā initiative.Ā
āVeterans possess the key skills and attributes needed for success: leadership, teamwork, quick reactions, problem solving, courage and integrity,ā says Rick McElwain, VP of network sales developmentĀ atĀ Valpak.
Valpakās goal isĀ toĀ hire as team members and recruit as franchiseĀ business owners 75,000 veterans and military spouses and 5,000 wounded warriors by 2014.Ā Incentives forĀ veterans hoping to joinĀ Valpak as a franchisee includeĀ the ability to acquire aĀ Valpak territory with no franchise, trainingĀ or initial territoryĀ fees.Ā Additional savingsĀ kick in asĀ the franchise continues to grow.
āProviding opportunities toĀ honorably discharged vetsĀ is not only good business,Ā but the right thing toĀ do,āĀ says McElwain.
