Gina Clifford,Ā a Ted.comĀ licenseeĀ and organizer of theĀ Poynter event, says Tampa is the perfect site toĀ discuss world change, particularly economic change.Ā āThe way Tampa is fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in spite of one of the highest unemployment rates in the country makes it the perfectĀ place to host a globalĀ discussion about worldĀ change.Ā We have a lotĀ to offer the debate. My thought processĀ wasĀ toĀ have someĀ local people and some outside people with ideas that were relevant to this area.ā
Clifford, who also hostsĀ aĀ monthly salon inĀ Ybor City, saysĀ herĀ initial interest in Ted.comĀ got her interested inĀ becomingĀ involved as a licensee for the Tampa Bay region.Ā āIāve been a TED fan for many, many years. I signed up on the website for their free membership and then I received an email that TED was offering licenses and I applied and was successful. From there I went out and built a team who was inspired to share big ideas throughout the community. IĀ donāt do it alone.Ā I have a great teamĀ who help.ā
Tickets to the event at Poynter are available online. A $25 cash donationĀ is requested atĀ the door.Ā
