KiteDesk: Tampa Entrepreneurs Beta Test Cloud Host
KiteDesk provides online users with access to integrated personal, professional and public content.
Two Tampa Bay entrepreneurs have launched an online service that they envision dominating the cloud computing market in coming years.
Jack Kennedy and Jared Rodriguez are currentlyĀ beta testingĀ KiteDesk, aĀ cloudĀ solutionĀ they launched inĀ December 2011 thatĀ providesĀ usersĀ with integratedĀ personal, professional and public content.Ā Jack Kennedy, KiteDesk CEO, says theĀ KiteDesk solutionĀ is easier to use and easier on the pocketbook.
āWe help companies move to the cloud,āĀ explains Kennedy.Ā āIt feels more like what theyāre used to. And they save money in the process.Ā And for individuals,Ā it brings everythingĀ into one user interfaceĀ ā allĀ their messages, sites, social networks,Ā etc. ā into one place.ā
Kennedy says the idea came to the men ā both of whom attended the University of SouthĀ Florida ā when they were working at a software development company.Ā
āWe were working for a company thatĀ focused on building development tools,āĀ explainsĀ Kennedy.Ā āAnd as we started working with Google apps, we began to seeĀ opportunities to workĀ outside the developmentĀ ecosystem. WeĀ started experimenting with APIsĀ (application programingĀ interfaces), took a step back andĀ looked at what we were hearing from vendors and users.Ā We wanted to make it easier with the end user. We wanted to provide a way for the user to have everything in one place.ā
Kennedy says onceĀ the beta test isĀ complete, KiteDeskĀ will be available to the general public. He also says heĀ anticipatesĀ adding positions toĀ his core staff inĀ May or JuneĀ 2012. Prices for KiteDesk services range from freeĀ to $2 per month.
