Inc. Magazine Names St. Pete Tech Firm 5th Fastest-Growing In Nation, Hiring

Crystal Clear Technologies, an information technology company in St. Pete that sells to government agencies, took the 5^th spot on Inc. magazine’s annual 500 list of the nation’s fastest-growing companies.

The company was founded in 2002 by Crystal Culbertson, and has grown to 14 employees today. Due to consecutive profitable years, including 2010 in which the company ended the year at $16.4 million, Crystal Clear Technologies plans to expand and grow even more.

“We have done a lot of work with special ops, and there has been quite a bit of need for services and product we provide in that arena for the last three years,” says John Lescarbeau, VP of sales and general manager for Crystal Clear Technologies. “We have outgrown our current building and are looking at a larger office to relocate to within the St. Pete area. We haven’t finalized a new location; however, we plan to be at our new location by Jan. 1 of next year.”

Along with a larger building comes a larger headcount. Lescarbeau says the company plans on hiring; though the exact number of people hired will depend on which contracts Crystal Clear gets over the next few months.

“We will probably be adding a position in our product re-sale division within the next three to six months,” says Lescarbeau. “We’ve also got a professional services division where we will be adding a couple people for program project management.”

In addition to the positions at its headquarters, the company also has a staffing division that hires contractors who will be stationed at bases as needed. Lescarbeau says that division, known as IT enterprises, could hire 15-50 contractors depending on what contracts they get.
