Video: Biyaks make a splash on the Hillsborough River in Downtown Tampa

Whether you're looking to mix a little fun with your daily exercise or you're simply searching for a better way to travel around downtown Tampa without running into traffic, check out the new biyaks on the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa.

Tampa is a city with serious pirate pride, so adventuring downtown on the Hillsborough River is a must!

Dan and Amanda Fleischbein, owners of Tampa Bay Water Bike Co., offer a new way to make a splash in the Bay Area. Their fleet of rental water bikes and biyaks (kayaks powered by pedals rather than paddle) dot the riverscape among the watersport options available at the docks near The Sail Pavilion and the Tampa Convention Center.

For the canine enthused, bring your Fido. The bikes have space enough for your best furry friend to ride along.

See what the pedal-powered ride is like in this video.
