Tampa Jobs Top All Florida Cities

The St. Petersburg Times reports that, according to a study by the job search engine Juju.com, Tampa ranks highest among Florida cities for its job-opening-to-job-hunter ratio. The study found that for every Tampa job posting there are 6.6 job seekers. For Miami, that number was 15.2. Tampa’s job odds also beat those of other major metropolitan areas in the South, including Atlanta, Houston and Charlotte, NC. Juju.com vice president Brendan Cruickshank told the Times that while the study serves as a good general guide to a given metropolitan area’s jobs climate, it did not take into account factors like jobs not posted on the Web or the quality of the postings. Still, in an area so deeply affected by the housing bust, this is welcome news.
