The Pride & Passion event at the Tampa Museum of Art celebrated the LGBTQ + community and its contributions to the arts and culture in Tampa Bay on Saturday, May 13th. A committee of LGBTQ+ community members and their allies started the event in 2006 as a fundraiser to support the museum.

This year’s 17th annual event, Pride & Passion: Sabor, also celebrated Latin American culture by highlighting the sights, sounds and tastes of the region’s Tampeño culture. There was food from local Latin American restaurants, a mariachi band and an evening of bachata, cumbia, merengue and salsa. Known for its eclectic mix of people and exquisite decor, the evening showcased breathtaking live performances. The crowd danced the night away as a DJ played tunes until midnight.
