DDA Development plans to build a 74-unit condominium - The Salvador - that will offer luxury living but at somewhat lower purchase prices than other condominiums along ritzy Beach Drive.
A 21-story luxury apartment building on Harbour Island will add more residents to a fast-growing urban landscape emerging in downtown Tampa and surrounding neighborhoods. Plans call for the upscale apartments to open in early 2016.
North Franklin Street is the latest address to add to the apartment boom in downtown Tampa. Carter & Associates has a pending contract to build a 23-story apartment building and garage in the 900 block of North Franklin.
Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik is making his presence felt in the Channel District with a proposed 400-room hotel/residence complex in the Channel District, surrounded by the TECO Streetcar Line, Tampa Convention Center, Marriott Waterside Hotel and Embassy Suites. Tampa City Council is on board after giving its initial vote of approval.
Developers are snapping up the last of the prime real estate in the Channel District for apartments and shops. Florida Crystals Corp., a new-kid-on-the-block, is buying three parcels to build 270 luxury apartments next to one of the districts earliest residential mid-rise towers, The Slade. The sugar company opened a real estate division last year.
