Tourism Panel Advises Pinellas County To Assist Dali Museum In Funding

The Salvador Dali Museum may be closer to its 2011 opening thanks to the Pinellas County Tourist Development Council’s recommendation to county commissioners to use $2.5 million of hotel bed tax revenue to fund the museum’s completion.Construction of the $36 million building has slowed until the museum can come up with the last $6 million.The St. Petersburg City Council recently agreed to give the museum $2.5 million toward completion as long as the county matched that amount.
