Language Service Creates At Least 65 Jobs, Tampa Bay
Speak two languages or more? These jobs may be for you.
Bi-lingualĀ or multilingualĀ job seekers have an opportunityĀ to work from home thanks to a national languageĀ services provider.
California-basedĀ LanguageĀ Line Services plans to hireĀ approximately 300Ā interpretersĀ throughout the stateĀ of FloridaĀ toĀ meet increased demand among its client baseĀ forĀ multilanguage interpreters. Sixty-five of thoseĀ jobs are estimated toĀ be filled by Tampa Bay job seekers with second-language skills.
Language LineĀ CEO LuisĀ ProvenzanoĀ saysĀ the company plans to hire 2,000 interpretersĀ nationwide.Ā āWith the number of cultural consumers out there, our clients are findingĀ if you speak to the customer in their nativeĀ language, theyāre a lot more likely toĀ buy,ā explains Provenzano. āApproximately 15 percent ofĀ the 2,000 we plan to hire are slated for Florida,ā he explains. āFlorida is one of our topĀ five states for recruiting and weāre expecting to see approximately 20Ā toĀ 25 percent of those to come fromĀ the Tampa Bay area. That translates toĀ roughly 60 to 75 jobs in Tampa.ā
Provenzano saysĀ those hired can expect to make between $30,000 to $60,000,Ā depending onĀ work volume.Ā Many interpreters are able toĀ work fromĀ home and experience isnāt necessary.
āIt really doesnāt depend on experience,ā Provenzano says.Ā āWe have one of theĀ best training programsĀ in the country.Ā SomeĀ interpretersĀ make as high as $60,000 depending onĀ the volume of work dueĀ to overtime and demand.Ā And they donāt have toĀ worry about gas or paying for mealsĀ because theyāll beĀ working from home and setting their own schedules.ā
LanguagesĀ currentlyĀ in demand includeĀ Mandarin, Russian, Vietnamese, Korean, Cantonese, Portuguese, Arabic, Polish, Spanish and French. Those interestedĀ with theĀ language skills necessaryĀ canĀ applyĀ online.
