Two federal grants totaling $8 million were recently awarded to the University of South Florida's College of Public Health.
USF, one of 14 schools in the nation awarded a grant from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, will use a $4.75-million grant over a five-year period to create a Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Center in Sarasota .
A $3.25-million grant from the Health and Human Resources Administration will be used to establish a Public Health Training Center with assistance from the Florida Department of Health.
The Center will offer
USF public health students a unique mentorship opportunity with leaders from the FDOH.
