Tampa Bay Tech Wave Launches New Incubator

Tampa Bay WaVE, a nonprofit organization that supports local tech entrepreneurs through networking and mentoring, is opening a new incubation space in downtown Tampa.

Details about the new space will be announced at the Tampa Downtown Partnership’s Downtown Debriefing Series on Thursday, Nov. 3.

“We want to inform the downtown community that Tampa Bay WaVE is opening a new incubation space here,” says Kimberly Finn Weaver, director of programming and membership at the Tampa Downtown Partnership. “Tampa Bay WaVE is partnering with the entrepreneurship center from the University of Tampa to foster some of their tech startups. Their goal is to launch 50 startups each year, which we think is fantastic for downtown. ”

Tech entrepreneurs can connect through Tampa Bay WaVE to get advice from other founders, as well as share contacts with one another to grow their businesses. Their goal is to make a significant impact on the region’s economic future through supporting start-up tech companies.

“When companies do well, other businesses seem to spring up around them,” Weaver says. “We would love to see downtown become a strong economic industry cluster. ”

The Downtown Debriefing Series: Catch the Tampa Bay Tech Wave will take place on Nov. 3^rd from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Jackson’s Bistro, 601 S. Harbour Island Boulevard, Tampa.
