Voalté Inc. (pronounced volt), a high-tech computer software company out of Sarasota, has big plans for growth, including tripling its workforce in the coming year.

The company was founded in December 2008 and offers turnkey communication solutions to acute-care hospitals through the next generation of smartphones.

The software that Voalté offers hospitals allows hospital medical staff, such as doctors and nurses, the ability to communicate through paging alarms, text messages, and voice calls using smartphones such as the Blackberry, Android and the iPhone.

Voalté currently has on staff 23 full-time employees composed of engineers, sales and services people, as well as general operations positions such as marketing and management.  And, according to Voalté CEO Rob Campbell, the number of employees will certainly increase.

“In the next year we plan to triple our workforce” Campbell says. “The hiring light is on and we are looking for the best of the best.”

The positions Voalté plans to fill in the next year include software engineering, field service engineering, sales, field sales engineering, and operations/logistics management.

Campbell attributes the company’s growth to having the right product at the right time. Voalté has capitalized on the timing of the following factors: The $19 billion the U.S. government has put toward healthcare, new data technology and the public’s permanent adoption of the smartphone.

“Every hospital has either looked into or contemplated the install of smartphones.” Campbell says.

Voalté’s technology has been installed in five hospitals to date, with several more contracts pending throughout the United States.
