Why stay at home? New USF Health study shows coronavirus impact if you don’t

USF College of Public Health warns: Take stay-at-home orders seriously. Why? Some 1.5M people for just over 4,000 hospital beds in Tampa, Plant City, Temple Terrace, and Hillsborough County.

An analysis by the USF College of Public Health predicts just how overwhelmed Hillsborough County’s hospitals will become if people don’t adhere to local and state orders to stay at home for a few weeks until the worst of the coronavirus outbreak is over.

Hillsborough County has a total of 4,060 hospital beds. About 1.5 million people call Hillsborough home, including about 430,000 in Tampa.
