Tampa Ranks Among America’s Most Literate Cities

In the recently released America’s Most Literate Cities study, Tampa comes in at No. 20 (in a tie with Tulsa).
The poll, conducted each year since 2003 by Central Connecticut State University, ranks 75 cities with populations of 250,000 or above (St. Petersburg’s estimated population is 249,000) on six indicators of literacy: newspaper circulation, number of bookstores, library resources, periodical publishing resources, educational attainment and Internet resources.
