The University of Central Florida's Institute for Economic Competitiveness released its annual economic forecast for Florida's metropolitan areas for the coming years, and the stats are showing gains for the Tampa Bay region despite a still-sputtering economy.
The report says that wages, personal income and employment are expected to have modest gains over the next year, while unemployment is expected to dip below 10 percent.
The report also gives an overview of recent events that may affect the region's economy over the next year, including Hillsborough County's moving forward on getting a massive transit overhaul initiative on next year's ballot.
