The University of South Florida was awarded a $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation. The Robert Noyce Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics grant will provide a stipend of $30,000--to cover tuition and expenses--for students who enroll in the one-year accelerated Masters of Arts in Teaching program.
The accelerated program, making its debut in Fall 2011, is aimed at individuals interested in teaching mathematics and science to high school students.
Applicants for the program must have a bachelor's degree in a STEM field to be eligible for consideration.
