Looking for the perfect art destination in America?
Look no further than Florida, according to a recent article in the
Toronto Star.
Between the newly designed
Dali Museum, a $131 million expansion of the
Miami Art Museum by Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron and the $21 million expansion of St. Petersburg's
Museum of Fine Arts in 2008, Florida has paved over the pink flamingos in favor of "multi-million-dollar art houses and cultural-centric areas," according to writer Peter Goddard.
In addition to Dali and MFA, Goddard mentions the
John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and the
Tampa Museum of Art in his five places not to miss.
