A Polk State College satellite campus in Bartow received approval from
city commissioners to begin construction on the 1,000-acre site.
The campus is part of Bartow's Clear Springs project -- an 18,000-acre
stretch of land development.
The campus itself will occupy 300 of the 1,000 acres. The remaining land
will continue as a conservation area.
