USF Prof Gets Top Honor for Paper On Racial Discrimination

James Unnever, University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee associate professor of sociology, was the sole 2009 recipient of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences for a recent paper he published.

The piece, titled "Racial Discrimination and Hirschi's Criminological Classic: A Chapter in the Sociology of Knowledge," appeared in Justice Quarterly. The academy will present the award to Unnever in San Diego this February.
