Jake Brady's
Concrete Countertops uses crushed recycled glass, opposed to quarried sand, to create its concrete pieces. Brady's company is currently at work on a project with Lakewood Ranch-based company
Josh Wynne Construction on a Net-Zero Emissions residence.
The feature also includes interviews with Andrew Tanner and Peter Laughlin of
EcoTechnologies, one of the largest photovoltaic installers in Florida. EcoTechnologies current projects include installing energy-saving photovoltaic panels at the Hillsborough County Courthouse, Community Center and Tax Collector's Office and an upcoming project in Orlando.
Sustainable builder Josh Wynne, who started his company in 1998, also shares his philosophy on green construction. Wynne, with three homes on the list, is the only builder in the state of Florida to have more than one home on the Florida Green Building Coalition's top 10 highest-scoring certified green homes.
