Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that the Sunshine State may soon pass legislation that would provide tax breaks for filmmakers who make movies in Florida.
In recent years, other Southeastern states, such as Louisiana, have been a bigger draw as sites for feature films, but some Florida legislators led by state Rep. Stephen Precourt (R-Orlando) hope to change that.
HB 697, which Precourt authored, would give tax breaks to film projects for things like costing more than $100,000, being family-friendly and being filmed off season.
