Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts reports that the impact of nonprofit arts organizations on the economy of Hillsborough County is nearly $298 million annually, according to a recent study.
The study, part of a nationwide research project by the nonprofit arts advocate Americans for the Arts, measures the financial benefit of nonprofit arts groups nationwide. It does not include for-profit entities like private art galleries.
According to this study, the nonprofit arts industry supports more jobs than other key industries, including public safety and accounting.
