Here are some Tampa Bay area events for Florida Bicycle Month.

The Westshore Alliance and Pedal Power Promoters third Bike Westshore series with guided bike rides around the district on March 7th and 28th. Both events “highlight safe, low-stress routes that can get you where you need to go in Westshore” and provide safety tips for biking in an urban environment. They also showcase the Westshore District’s growing array of public art.

“This is a great teambuilding activity for employees and an excellent way to view the district from a two-wheel perspective,” says an event description on the Alliance website.

Both events are 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The March 7th ride group meets at Cigar City Brewing’s Spruce Street location at 9:30 a.m. and travels the east area of the district. The March 28th group meets at McKibbon Hospitality in Avion Park and cycles the Westshore’s western half. Both events are open to the public and include the option to reserve a LIME electric bike in advance. Register on the Westshore Alliance website.

On Sunday, March 8th, the Tampa Downtown Partnership and Tampa City Council member Lynn Hurtak will hold an “Easy Sunday Ride, Florida Bike Month Special Edition!” The guided group bike ride explores routes to and within the downtown and includes a brief stop for coffee. Riders can meet at 9:30 a.m. at Henry & Ola Park or 10 a.m. at Morgan and Cass streets. Bring your own bike. Helmets are strongly encouraged.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 14th, the City of Dunedin, Pinellas County government’s Move Safe, Pinellas program, Forward Pinellas, Friends of the Pinellas Trail, and the Florida Department of Transportation are holding an event at the Lari White Pavilion along the Pinellas Trail.

“Agencies will be handing out bells for bikes, educating passers-by on e-bikes and other safety items and providing fittings for bicycle helmets,” a description on Dunedin’s website says. “Friends of the Pinellas Trail will bring information on the trail and their 35-anniversary celebration.”
