Sarasota-based Neal Communities builds eight new home communities in 2015, with plans to build three more by mid 2016. Communities are spread out south of Tampa, in Sarasota, Bradenton, Riverview, Lakewood Ranch, Apollo Beach and Estero.
Tampa Housing Authority plans to add 800 homes to the West River redevelopment project. The project is part of the city of Tampa's plan to transform the area into a mixed-income neighborhood.

The notable One Progress Plaza in downtown St. Petersburg has been renamed to Priatek Plaza. The building is named after one of its tenants, Priatek, a performance-based digital signage company.
