Tampa Adopts Law Protecting Transgendered
On Top Magazine reports on the Tampa City Council’s decision to extend discrimination protection to transgendered individuals. This means that it will be illegal to discriminate against transgendered individuals ”in the areas of employment, housing and public accommodations.”
While a number of people showed up to testify against the ordinance, individuals who supported it outnumbered those who didn’t. Members of the LGBT community see this as a major victory in their ongoing pursuit of equal rights.
