Los Angeles-based KB Homes recently unveiled its first net-zero house in Brandon dubbed ZeroHouse 2.0.
The 1,800-square-foot model, located in the Emerald Oaks neighborhood, features rooftop solar panels, a compositor to turn food scraps into fertilizer, a 115-gallon backyard composting bin, a rainwater storage system and more, according to
Builder Magazine.
KB has similar homes in San Antonio and Austin, Texas and plans to expand to other cities in the future.
