Lakewood Ranch High School senior Devin McDermott was recently selected as one of 12 finalists for the 2011 Wendy's High School Heisman Award.
McDermott is one of 48,000 applicants that applied for the
award, which will select one male and one female winner during
ESPN's national telecast of the college Heisman Memorial Trophy presentation on Dec. 10.
The high schools of the two national award winners will each receive a donation of $10,000 in the student's names.
