Mote Marine Lab Finds Benefits Of Red Tide, Sarasota

Sarasota's Mote Marine Laboratory teamed up with the Center for Marine Science at the University of North Carolina for a 10-year research study on red tide.

Data from the research shows that red tide, despite its harmful toxins, produces three non-toxic substances. One of which, Brevenal, causes surprising health benefits for people with cystic fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder.
