Mote Marine Laboratory, The Centers For Biological Defense at the University of South Florida and a research institute in New York are researching the potential healing power of a substance found on the bodies of sea creatures.
The three-year study, funded through U.S. Department of Defense grants, observes mucous found on species of rays, skates and sharks that could be used to develop new antibiotics to treat infections.
