The Florida Industrial and Phosphate Research Institute is searching for alternative sources of fuel to ease U.S. dependency on oil.
Two recent projects involve the use of sulfur and algae as energy sources, according to the
News Chief.
The
University of South Florida Polytechnic is currently collaborating with
FIPR on several projects, including a $15,000 grant to explore mined phosphate lands for "rare Earth elements."
