Weekly nonstop flights between Tampa and Cuba could begin as early as Sept. 10.
Tampa International Airport is one of the first airports to acquire a carrier service provider with landing rights in Cuba since the U.S. government granted permission earlier this year.
Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Oakland and San Juan have also been approved to host charter flights.
