Mote Marine Lab Encourages New Aquaculture

Dr. Michael P. Crosby, senior VP for research at Mote Marine Laboratory, and Dr. Kevan L. Main, director of Mote's Center for Aquaculture Research and Development, recently shared their support for the development of new methods of aquaculture.

They cite the "ever-growing" seafood trade deficit -- approaching $10 billion a year -- and the amount of imported seafood as reasons to develop and expand aquaculture, according to the recent op-ed in the Sarasota Herald Tribune.
