Elite YPs Meet Up On April 26th In Temple Terrace

The Young Elite Professionals (YEP) Network, a division of the Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a networking event on April 26th. The YEP network has been around for two years and has been growing in membership.

"We started the YEP network to engage and welcome younger members into the chamber," says Lauren Tice, chair of YEP. "We saw that other chambers were introducing young professional groups and we wanted to do that as well."

"All types of industries are represented -- insurance agents, home-based businesses, nonprofits, as well as marketing representatives from various businesses in the Temple Terrace area," Tice says. "You don't have to work in Temple Terrace to be in our network; we have members who work outside of the area too."

The group meets once a month, and in late April the YEP will host a networking event at Gaspar's Patio Bar & Grill.

"We will have speaker Russ Oberbroeckling, who runs Buddy Baseball, talk about the special needs program he leads, and how members can volunteer to help," Tice says. "There will also be time to socialize with drinks and appetizers."

The YEP is for individuals between the ages of 21-40. The group not only focuses on networking but also giving back to the community.

"We have a charity that we focus on each month," Tice says. "At each meeting we collect donations or have a speaker from a nonprofit tell us how we can help. Giving back to the community is important to us."

The YEP After Hours Networking Event will be April 26th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Gaspar's Patio Bar & Grill, 8448 N. 56th Street in Temple Terrace. The event is free to members and $10 for non-members.
