Job News Tampa's career fair at the Wyndham Westshore Hotel was so successful that another will be held in St. Pete in April.
"We had a great turnout at our last job fair, and I am hoping that we have another successful one in St. Pete," says Fara Kneitel of
Job News Tampa. "Our last job fair brought out over 1,000 attendees and we anticipate from our preregistration numbers to have about that same number again."
Kneitel says that this job fair will feature additional employers.
"Some new companies include
USAA,
Scott's Lawn,
Jabil,
Ideal Image,
Amscot Financial,
Metlife,
Aaron's retail stores and
Macy's," Kneitel says. "We are anticipating Hit Promotions to join us as well."
According to Kneitel, hiring has definitely picked up over the last few weeks. "We have seen a lot more 'help wanted' ads in the past four weeks, and reading through reports from CEOs, over 60 percent of them anticipate to continue hiring throughout the year," she says. "All signs of a rebounding job market."
Like the job fair held in Tampa, Kneitel says that
FrankCrum Staffing will be reviewing resumes and offering advice to job seekers.
"They helped us out last time and were so busy they are adding two additional people to help man their booth," Kneitel says. "With job seekers competing against a larger number of applicants all vying for the same job, people need to make themselves standout from the rest."
The
Job News Career Fair will be held at the
St. Petersburg Marriott Clearwater, 12600 Roosevelt Blvd., in St. Pete. The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12.
