New American Theater Will Hold Auditions At The Palladium In St. Pete

New American Theater is having auditions for the 2010/2011 season on Tuesday, June 15. The auditions will be held at the Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg starting at 5 pm.

New American Theater asks that actors come prepared with a one-minute monologue containing a song of 16 bars. They ask that the song is in the correct key and be marked clearly where to start and stop.

These roles being filled are only for adults 25 and older.

The shows that have open auditions are for Pump Boys and Dinettes, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, Songs for a New World and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

For the production of Pump Boys and Dinettes, the actors are required to sing, dance, act and play instruments. Also for this production the men will need to be able to play the instrument their character plays. Actors do not need to bring the instrument with them for auditions; they will be asked to play at the callbacks.

The production Songs for a New World calls for the actors to have extremely strong vocal skills.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee entails the actors to have basic dance abilities.

After actors have signed up for their audition, they will need to send a resume to [email protected]. Actors are also asked to bring their resume with their headshot to the audition.

To sign up for auditions, go to the New American Theater website.
