Tampa Bay Ad YPs Offer Free Work For Nonprofit

Ad 2 Tampa Bay, a network of Tampa Bay's young advertising professionals, has found an innovative way of giving back to its community. The network is seeking a nonprofit organization to serve as a pro bono client. Group members will donate their time and talent to develop a full advertising campaign for a selected nonprofit in what they call their annual Public Service Campaign. The campaign is open to all 501(c)3 organizations that are not politically or religiously based.

Nonprofit organizations can enter the campaign contest by filling out an application about their organization. All applications must be submitted to Ad 2 by July 25th, and then the network will select their winner August 5th.

"The winner can expect a full-fledge campaign," says Shannon Byrne, director of Ad 2 Tampa Bay. "The work benefits not only its participants, but the community."

In addition to putting together a full media plan, the network will provide several other services as well. "We receive donated or significantly discounted media and have professional designers create the creative pieces from scratch," Byrne says. "Past clients campaigns have included websites, rebranding, logo development, media placement and more."

The team that will work on the campaign is made up of representatives from various local companies including Catalina Marketing, Clear Channel, Momentum Mobile and students from USF, UT and HCC.

Byrne says the top three finalists will be chosen the week of July 25th and will be asked to conduct a 10-minute presentation on August 4th. Then the winner will be announced the following day.
