Halifax Media Group Buys Sarasota Newspaper
The New York Times Company is selling the company’s Regional Media Group, including the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, to Halifax Media Holdings, of Daytona Beach, Fla., for $143 million in cash.
Arthur Sulzberger Jr., chairman of The New York Times Company, praised the publications within the Regional Media Group for serving “as trusted institutions in their communities, delivering news and information that matter most to their readers.”
Sulzberger added that the group’s sale “will enable The New York Times Company to continue our transformation to a digitally focused, multiplatform media company.”
