From Santa Cruz, Calif., Outstanding in the Field travels the country setting up one extraordinarily long dining table for up to 150 guests to dine together family style in the open air.
Outstanding introduced their concept to the west coast of Florida in January by connecting with Worden Farm in Punta Gorda, a St Pete
Saturday Morning Market regular, and
River City Grill Executive Chef Steve Iadevaia to create a meal between rows of vegetables at twilight in the great outdoors.
Iadevaia served up jerk alligator ribs from Cypress Creek Farms of Starke, FL., that fell right off the bone and beer-poached Florida shrimp that were a succulent table favorite. Tampa's own
Cigar City Brewery and
Le Segunda Bakery also provided food and drink featured during dinner.
Next stop? Kaui, HI. Here's a photo slideshow from the Florida event at
Worden Farm near Fort Myers, south of Sarasota.
