Four new businesses have opened on Main Street in Sarasota's Lakewood
Ranch: a miniature golf course, two restaurants and a craft store.
Fish Hole Adventure Golf
is located at 8111 Main Street and features a 6,000-gallon koi pond,
lush landscaping and misters to take the edge off the Florida sun along
with its 18-hole golf courses.
Eduardo's Cantina at 8126 Main Street features Mexican flavor and culture.
General Manager Rob Chiossi says his brother-in-law John Breiner chose Main Street because it's close to home. "We both live in
Lakewood Ranch and John also owns
Ed's Tavern,"
says Chiossi. "We love the community. We saw the need for diversity in
food on Main Street. We fell in love with the flavor and culture of
Mexico and saw a need for a Mexican restaurant. People shouldn't have to
go across Interstate 75 to get what they want."
Just
down the street is the Main Street Trattoria, offering pizza, pasta and
other Italian favorites. The restaurant is located at 8131 Main Street.
Patrons can enjoy cafe-style seating on the sidewalk or have a drink at
the bar, which straddles the restaurant and the the sidewalk.
And crafters will enjoy
Knot Awl Beads
at 8111 Main Street, Suite 106. Knot Awl Beads offers beading and much
more, with classes that teach everything from jewelry making to handbag
beading. Owner Fran Jensen says she relocated her business to Main
Street because of its busy population.
"I
relocated from SR 70 in Lakewood Ranch," says Jensen. "Main Street is
more of a destination place and there is more foot traffic. This
location is right across from the movie theater and some wonderful
restaurants. "
