Approximately 10 months after opening in Westchase, Burger 21 recently opened its doors at a new location in Carrollwood.
The
new restaurant at 11777 N. Dale Mabry Highway celebrated its grand opening on October 23rd, marking its second location in the Tampa Bay region; the company's first restaurant in Westchase is located at 9664 W. Linebaugh Ave.
Offering 21 freshly ground, hormone-free beef, chicken, turkey and shrimp burgers, the 2,900-square-foot restaurant also offers made-to-order salads,
Hebrew National hot dogs and an extensive signature shake bar including hand-dipped shakes, malts and floats.
“The Burger 21 concept defines its own category beyond the better burger offering quality, premium ingredients, innovative recipes and a gourmet experience without the gourmet price,” says Mark Johnston, CEO of Tampa's
Front Burner Brands, parent company of Burger 21. “We're excited to jumpstart the growth of this brand.”
Hiring 67 new team members for the opening, the Carrollwood location offers a 340-square-foot patio area with the capacity to seat approximately 100 customers inside and out.
“We chose Carrollwood [for the second location] because it's an area that is very active during our business hours, and, like the Westchase community, Carrollwood is the kind of community that has legs: A customer will share their Burger 21 experience with his or her neighbor who then tells his or her neighbor and so on,” says Johnston.
In September,
Burger 21 launched a national franchise program with plans to expand the “beyond the better burger” fast-casual concept throughout most of the United States. Initial expansion efforts will focus on Florida markets.
