Ten years ago, a Pinellas Education Foundation report shined a light on the gender achievement gap in reading. Working for solutions, the nonprofit partnered with Pinellas County Schools on Closing the Gap, a program that uses research-based results-driven teaching strategies, teamwork and competition to boost elementary school boys' interest and scores in reading.
